Hey folks, Mark Scroggins with Scroggins Law Group and before we get into these q&a is want to remind everybody that this is just providing a general answer to questions that are posed by our listenership and viewership out there. So at no time does that create an attorney client relationship between you and me, or between you and any member of Scroggins Law Group. So hope these questions are good for you. And it answers some of the questions that you got. The next question we get is what happens to the family business during the divorce? Well, great question. It’s going to be divided just like any other property, but the real questions that come up, are, you know, who has been involved in running the business? So have both spouses been involved? has only one spouse been involved? What has been the role of those particular spouses? If you remove one spouse from the business, does the business actually maintain its value. Okay, these are all things that need to be looked at. These are all things that you need to discuss with your attorney, because all of them are incredibly, incredibly important. So don’t leave any of this out. We want to make sure that you’re gonna get paid for it properly. But you want to make sure that if you don’t, you aren’t really the one who brings a lot of value to the business that it’s not awarded to you because it’s not going to maintain that value. So be open and honest with your attorney so that you can have that discussion to determine what is the best outcome as far as the division of that business interest.
